Sometimes in this day and age I feel that we are constantly comparing ourselves to other moms. I mean how can we not, it is SO easy to do. I feel that I especially begin to compare myself when I am feeling the most distraught and overwhelmed with mamahood. So here I am, writing an ode to YOU! For days when you feel you can’t keep going, for days when your body is aching from holding your sweet baby when they won’t take a nap, for days when laundry is up to your eyes and the sink is full.
This is for you.
Remember what a great job you’re doing, even if you didn’t accomplish your to-do list for the day, you kept your human (or humans) alive! And to me, that is a win. Being a mom is no easy task, and from a mama to a mama I want you to know that you are amazing. Whether you’re a first time mama or a seasoned veteran, you are amazing. Know that every day you are doing your best, and remember that tomorrow will come if today feels like a wash.
I am no mama expert but i do know that relating to other mamas helps me so much. Knowing that i am not the only mama that cries when she can’t help her baby because she doesn’t know what’s wrong, not the only mama that goes a little too long without washing her hair, not the only mama who can feel so lonely some days, and not the only mama who just wishes for some peace and quiet to use the bathroom. So this post is for YOU. To help you know that every mama goes through the same feelings, even if they appear flawless on the outside.
My prayer is that this post was a light for you. To help you know I am right there with you mama! Through the thick and the thin, and knowing this truly is the hardest but the best job!
