Here we are again, finding ourselves at the beginning of a new year awaiting the feeling of fresh new starts and resolutions. If you’re like me then resolutions can sometimes seem unrealistic come the second week of the new year -because I’m not always good at keeping my resolutions. But, I’m here to tell you that it is possible, and to share with you ways you can tackle your New Year’s resolutions.
Take it One Resolution at a Time – It might be overwhelming to start the new year off with multiple goals to master, so start by working on just one. Once you feel like the first goal has become a habit -and you can keep it up- add in another goal.
Make A Plan – What is your full resolution? What are the smaller steps you can take to get to that goal? Maybe you can write down the ways you can accomplish each step. What can you complete in one month? What can you complete in 3 months?
Schedule Your Resolutions into your Day – Make sure you are setting aside time each day (or how ever often you need) to complete your resolution. Doing this will give you the opportunity to succeed and remind you that your resolution can be a part of your day.
Set Up A Reward System – Reward yourself each time you complete your goal. One way I can think of this is to give yourself $1 each time you workout, or floss, or eat healthy, whatever your resolution is, and with your money earned spend it on new workout clothes, or a new shirt, etc. I think you see where I’m going with this.
Share a Resolution With a Friend – They say if you work on a resolution with a partner you’re more likely to succeed because you have someone else to hold you accountable. I mean, strength in numbers right?! Text each other, and challenge each other, talk, vent, share ways that you have been able to accomplish the resolution.
Wherever you find yourself this new year know that you can accomplish hard things. You can make a change in your life for the better, you just have to make the choice. I hope these ideas can help give you the boost that you need to start your new year off right.
