DockAtot Giveaway

May 4, 2017 in Baby / Giveaways / Product Reviews

I’ve been loving all these recent new baby companies and products that have come out since I had my last baby!

One of my favorites for sure is the DockAtot! If you haven’t heard about them, it’s like a little raft for your baby to lay in. It helps with safety when co-sleeping and just throughout the day as well. I just remember those first few weeks of having a newborn and it just helps to have another safe place for baby to lay down.

I’ve teamed up with them to give one of my readers a DockAtot! Head over to my instagram to enter! (HERE)

(The picture above is of my cute friend Sarah from thedaintypear.com, using one with her babe!)

If you have a DockAtot I would love to hear your experience with it as well! And if you are eyeing these bad boys… then you should enter to win one!😉

Toddler Favs

ToddlerFavorites

I tend to talk a lot about how toddlers are the best, but think about it…if you minus the tantrum scene they sometimes cause at the grocery store, everything else about them is the best! They say the cutest things, give kisses on demand, and are so full of love in such a tiny little body!

So I decided to share some of my toddler favorites as well as a baby store that everyone needs to hear about!

The Baby Cubby.

Remember when you first were going to be a mom and you went to buy a stroller and it was like purchasing a car!? There are BILLION different choices, colors, and each one has all kinds of tricks that I can’t even keep up with it all.

So that’s why I’m telling you about Baby Cubby. They do that work for you! It’s awesome. They research the brands to find the best out there and put it all in one place for you to shop. They have so many wonderful baby and mom items, but as far as toddlers go, these are my must haves and my toddler is obsessed! 1. Monkey Backpack

2. Mary Meyers Stuffed Animals – Seriously you guys… I thought these were cute online, but when I got it I about died. My toddler calls it his “Lion King” and won’t let it leave his sight!!

3. Dino Car

4. Tegu blocks – These are the coolest wooden magnetic blocks ever. Pretty sure I play with them just as much as my toddler does!

5. Saltwater Sandals – (Side note: We live in Texas so I’ve tried different sandals and have wasted so much money on ones that fall apart within a few weeks. These are worth every single scent because they last! I’m cheap you guys but when it comes to long lasting sandals that don’t ruin when they get wet? These are the ticket! Plus, are they not just stinkin’ cute? I’ll always be a fan.)

Skin Care Favorites

February 8, 2016 in Health + Beauty

I’ve been a little MIA lately with this blog, but I wanted to share some of my favorite skin care products and my nightly routine that I do. I’m one of those girls who can’t fall asleep without brushing my teeth and washing my face…and I’ve been on the search for months for something more natural to help the bags under my eyes, acne scars, and large pores. Thanks to my mother-in-law, I am sold on all of these! I get so excited to get ready for bed because my face and skin feels amazing when I’m done!

Let me break it down (and if you want to get some for yourself, you can click the image to a direct link!)

Witch Hazel: I use this witch hazel as a toner (especially on the side of my nose where my pores are bigger), as well as my T-zone and I’ve seen a difference in just the last month of using it! I’ve been so excited about it! After you shower (when your pores are most open), you use a cotton ball and apply it all over. Wait for it to dry before applying make-up or any other moisturizer. I use this every single night and when I have a few extra minutes after a shower in the morning.

Moisturizer: I’ve been using this Age Reversal for my whole face, but especially under my eyes. (is it just me, or do you instantly get old and start aging when you become a mom!?) This helps firm your skin and I can feel that firmness still by the morning, it’s awesome. The only bad part is that is it a little bit on the pricy side – but a little goes a long way in this little bottle and I would say it’s completely worth it! (And I’m a cheap skate!) UPDATE: this is on sale RIGHT NOW — Almost $25 off + Free Shipping (only 20 left!). I swear by this stuff!

Body Butter: All my Utah friends — you NEED this! Especially during these winter months. My skin isn’t as dry in Texas but I still use this every single night. And the rule at our house, is if we go to bed by 10 (since I get a little distracted at night) my hubs will give me a foot rub with this! Ummmm yes. If you’re needing to give your spouse some hints for Valentines… this is it! (SIDE NOTE: Last I heard Trader Joes was pretty much out of this (we got the very last ones at the TJ’s out here) so I was happy to see it on Amazon. Holla!

Chapstick: Okay… coming from the girl who is constantly trying different chapsticks… this one takes the cake. I never have chapped lips because of it. Use it every night!

If I don’t get ready for bed with these I feel like I’m missing out! It’s 5 minutes of pampering yourself and makes you feel so refreshed. What does your nightly routine look like? Would love to hear about the products you use too!

Aveeno Baby Soothing Bath

July 15, 2015 in Product Reviews

Hello mamas! I’m so excited to finally post my very first mamahood post. This blog and FB chat group have been so amazing and I’m so grateful to be a part of it all. I seriously have learned so much from all of you and hope that I can give back a little bit. 🙂

So I kept going back and forth this past week. What in the world should my first post be about?? I’m an esthetician and can’t wait to share some of my beauty/skin tips and tricks, but I’m also excited to share motherhood experiences, struggles, advice, etc. With so many options, it was still so hard to decide…BUT THEN yesterday we had an experience that I couldn’t wait to share.

This week is our annual trip to Chicago to visit my in-laws. Every summer, the entire family (5 sons, their wives and children) travel to Grammi and Poppi’s house for a fun-filled week. We all live across the USA from Utah to New Jersey and only get the entire family together once a year! So basically this summer trip is what we live for. Well– if any of you have been to Chicago (or this side of the country) then you know that its hot and sweaty during this time of year. Can I just say how much I hate the humidity? I know that it’s good for my skin but ew. Feeling sticky and sweaty while we play and do activities outside, really just gets to me. I’m partial to the “blow dryer in your face” type of dry heat that we get in St. George! 😉

Anyway– I started to notice that this wet, heat must be getting to my 14 month old too. I lifted up his shirt after our first day here and noticed that he had a red rash covering his back. “Um what? What is this?” Henry has never had a rash before this and I, being the first-time-mom that I am, got super nervous. I was trying to think if he had eaten something new, if I had used a different laundry detergent, etc. The list of questions just went on and on. My sister-in-law mentioned that it might be a heat rash but wasn’t sure. She recommended that we take his shirt off, get him inside and let him cool off a bit. I kept my eye on it the rest of the night but it still hadn’t changed. The next day, my sister-in-law recommended that we try a product that I had seen at the store but never tried. Aveeno Baby Soothing Bath Treatment. I love Aveeno products and knew that this colloidal oatmeal bath soak would definitely be soothing, if nothing else. So we gave it a shot! I won’t lie– the bath water looked super nasty but ‘you gotta do whatchya gotta do’.. Right? Plus, it didn’t seem to bother him one bit. We bathed like normal and that was it!

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

NO JOKE– while getting his pajamas on, I noticed that the redness in the rash had seriously almost disappeared completely. I could still feel the rash and see that it was there but it literally wasn’t red anymore. The next morning I checked his back again and nothing! The rash had disappeared completely!! I was so impressed.

This product is fantastic! I’ve read so many reviews since and have realized that this product can help lots of different things. It’s mainly intended for eczema but helps so much more than that. So if your little one has dry/itchy skin, an irritated rash, eczema or anything else that needs a little moisture and soothing.. this is it! I will definitely keep this product on hand from now on.

Liz

Hidden Treasures

I love discovering new little shops and talented people! I recently came across THIS Etsy shop that I love. I secretly don’t want to tell anyone because I want to be the only one with these cute little treasures in my home, but I’ll share the love with you guys!

These are so perfect for any nursery or kid’s room and you can get them customized to fit your home!

I’m obsessing over my whale and this little bear. They are handmade soft stuffed animals that are mounted on distressed wood. So cute to put on a gallery wall too.
