Ah, you guys! I’ve known about this little secret for a little while and am so excited to finally share with you a HUGE change that is going on with the blog. I decided that I want to expand a little bit and join forces with another sweet mama that I met throughout this whole Mamahood journey and have her join as a co-writer to this blog. She is full of AMAZING ideas, has a huge passion for motherhood, designs pretty things and is one talented lady, I’m tellin’ ya! We’ve collaborated and have a few ideas up our sleeves for the future that will be fun so make sure to follow along and spread the word!
Here’s a little bit about sweet Liz:
She is from Salt Lake City and currently living in St. George. (PS…did I mention that Liz and I live thousands of miles away but have managed to become BFF’s? Love her!) She is married to her best friend and is a work at home mama to a sweet, busy and adorable 14 month old boy. She is beautiful from the inside out!
Here are some questions I asked her so that you could get to know her a little better.
What’s your favorite thing about being a mom? Waking up everyday with a purpose. I love knowing that this perfect little human has chosen me to be his mother and I get to see the world through his eyes. He’s brought a whole new meaning to love, enjoying the little things and not worrying about the small stuff.
What’s the craziest thing that’s ever happened to you? Oh boy. Is it weird that I really have to dig? I think it’s probably because I have the WORST memory ever.. I’m sure there are multiple things to choose from but the one that sticks out to me the most is this. One time I went to London with my family and we were taking the train aka the tube from the airport to the hotel. When you arrive at a stop, the doors open and you hear, “Mind the gap. Mind the gap.” in this lady’s voice and you only have a certain amount of time to exit the tube before the doors swiftly shut and the train moves on. Well we got to our stop and the doors opened. For some reason, I was at the back. Tell me that you can already tell where this story is going. Ha! Anyway, all of us gathered our luggage and started making the move out the doors and right when I was just about to step off, the doors quickly shut in my face and the train continued on. My heart seriously dropped. “WHERE AM I GOING?!”, is all that was running through my head. I quickly glanced at the map above me and saw that in about 10 minutes, we would be stopping again. I was looking around at the people on the train hoping that someone just saw what happened but none of them had any idea…Nor did they seem to care. I was dying. Haha! This was definitely the worst case scenario and I was seriously praying that my family was just waiting at the last stop for me. Thankfully, I was able to get off the train and find a different train going back the other way, found my family and all was good. But yikes! It still gives me anxiety just thinking about it.
What’s your favorite hobby? I love going to the DI or garage sales and finding wood furniture or something to refinish. I love making something old and dingy, beautiful again! that and working on graphic design projects are probably two of my favorite things.
What’s one thing on your bucket list? Well, I’m obsessed with the Bachelor/Bachelorette show (Team Ben H!!) and I love all of the amazing places that they travel to. Ever since I watched Jake Pavelka take his ladies to St. Lucia, I’ve been dying to go there. Seriously so dreamy! So someday, my husband and I will take a trip there with no children. 😉
We are so excited to have Liz on board with us and you will be hearing more from her soon!
