tubby todd Giveaway

August 5, 2015 in Product Reviews

Bath-time is easily Henry’s favorite part of the day and one of my favorites too! He’s used to the routine and knows that every night before bed, he gets a bath. It’s so fun watching him play and discover but lets be honest.. That clean, fresh out of the bath, baby-smell is just TOO good to be true. Here’s where one of our new favorite products comes in. I found tubby todd on instagram and was instantly curious! I mean, just look at their logo and branding. My graphic design eyes experienced love at first sight! But beyond that, I love that their products are 100% natural. You can literally go on their website and look up each ingredient and what it is exactly/what it’s used for.

I knew I had to get some right away. Let’s just say, I’m hooked and won’t use anything else from here on out. It smells so delicious! Remember that it’s all natural so it literally smells like we’re walking through a lavender field (not kidding). I love it! The soap lathers so well and feels really moisturizing. I can tell that it’s actually good for Henry’s soft skin and not going to dry it out. Now do you want to hear the best part? Tubby todd has agreed to give one of our lucky mamas this Love Lake Lavender Wash that we love! Head over to our Instagram acct to find out how to enter!

Also– see that darling elephant over the faucet? We’ll be talking all about that awesome company soon.. Cant wait!

Aveeno Baby Soothing Bath

July 15, 2015 in Product Reviews

Hello mamas! I’m so excited to finally post my very first mamahood post. This blog and FB chat group have been so amazing and I’m so grateful to be a part of it all. I seriously have learned so much from all of you and hope that I can give back a little bit. 🙂

So I kept going back and forth this past week. What in the world should my first post be about?? I’m an esthetician and can’t wait to share some of my beauty/skin tips and tricks, but I’m also excited to share motherhood experiences, struggles, advice, etc. With so many options, it was still so hard to decide…BUT THEN yesterday we had an experience that I couldn’t wait to share.

This week is our annual trip to Chicago to visit my in-laws. Every summer, the entire family (5 sons, their wives and children) travel to Grammi and Poppi’s house for a fun-filled week. We all live across the USA from Utah to New Jersey and only get the entire family together once a year! So basically this summer trip is what we live for. Well– if any of you have been to Chicago (or this side of the country) then you know that its hot and sweaty during this time of year. Can I just say how much I hate the humidity? I know that it’s good for my skin but ew. Feeling sticky and sweaty while we play and do activities outside, really just gets to me. I’m partial to the “blow dryer in your face” type of dry heat that we get in St. George! 😉

Anyway– I started to notice that this wet, heat must be getting to my 14 month old too. I lifted up his shirt after our first day here and noticed that he had a red rash covering his back. “Um what? What is this?” Henry has never had a rash before this and I, being the first-time-mom that I am, got super nervous. I was trying to think if he had eaten something new, if I had used a different laundry detergent, etc. The list of questions just went on and on. My sister-in-law mentioned that it might be a heat rash but wasn’t sure. She recommended that we take his shirt off, get him inside and let him cool off a bit. I kept my eye on it the rest of the night but it still hadn’t changed. The next day, my sister-in-law recommended that we try a product that I had seen at the store but never tried. Aveeno Baby Soothing Bath Treatment. I love Aveeno products and knew that this colloidal oatmeal bath soak would definitely be soothing, if nothing else. So we gave it a shot! I won’t lie– the bath water looked super nasty but ‘you gotta do whatchya gotta do’.. Right? Plus, it didn’t seem to bother him one bit. We bathed like normal and that was it!

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

NO JOKE– while getting his pajamas on, I noticed that the redness in the rash had seriously almost disappeared completely. I could still feel the rash and see that it was there but it literally wasn’t red anymore. The next morning I checked his back again and nothing! The rash had disappeared completely!! I was so impressed.

This product is fantastic! I’ve read so many reviews since and have realized that this product can help lots of different things. It’s mainly intended for eczema but helps so much more than that. So if your little one has dry/itchy skin, an irritated rash, eczema or anything else that needs a little moisture and soothing.. this is it! I will definitely keep this product on hand from now on.

Usborne Books

May 28, 2015 in Product Reviews

I have never been a reader. It’s just never been my thing. I always wished I loved it but I never could say I truly did. My mom would kill me if she knew I admitted to the world that I could count on one hand how many chapter books I actually have finished in my life.

Ever since having a babe though I’ve become obsessed with children’s books. This passed Mother’s Day that’s all I wanted-kid’s books! My little man is obsessed with these Usborne books.

Product Review: Simply Cotton

May 13, 2015 in Product Reviews

simplycotton

Can we talk for a sec about how I feel that every state should have just as much pride as Texans do? Ever since moving here I love seeing how much pride they show for where they live. So now I’m happy that I can start reppin’ where I’m from with these new tees!

If you haven’t heard of Simply Cotton yet then you need to listen up because this company is gonna go big, I already know it! The cutest girl I know owns this shop. She started it all from scratch and it’s already booming in the short time it’s been open.

I’m a huge fan of how long their shirts are. I’m wearing a small olive-green crew neck in these pics. And I think it’s safe to say that I secretly wear this shirt on repeat because it’s comfy and not super tight either. I’m picky with my t-shirts and I definitely have found my new favorite ones to wear! It’s not too tight, not too baggy… (ha! I feel like the girl on Miss Congeniality, “All you need is a light sweater!”)

PS. I know what you’re thinking…I’m no model (obvi.) and if you wanta know the real truth… I took these while I was on a morning walk with my babe, the camera on timer, he was eating fishies, watching the birds, while his crazy mom was leaping into some pic trying to strike a pose before someone with their dog was about to walk by. I would act all casual when people would pass me. (haha!) Not sure why I’m confessing all this, but now you know how cool of a mom I really am. 😉

Definitely go snag one of these shirts for yourself (Click HERE) or try to win one for you and a friend over on INSTAGRAM!
